☀ Summer 2026

The summer your child
stops waiting to be taught.

Summer Labs is a six-week programme where children work through real problems, not to practice methods they already know, but to discover methods that do not exist for them yet. No textbook. No syllabus. No instruction. Just thinking, in a space designed entirely for it.

Delivered by Adithya Lanka. 18 years building products at Bloomberg and Microsoft. Now designing the problems your child was born to solve.

Six weeks of your child inventing things.

The problems in Summer Labs draw from math, logic, science and everyday life, but the experience feels nothing like school. Each child works at their own level, on their own path, every session. There is no class pace to follow, no other child to compare against.

Real problems, not textbook exercises

Summer Labs problems are chosen because they require invention, not recall. A child might spend a session figuring out how to describe fairness mathematically, or how to think about something moving at different speeds in different directions, building the tools they need as they go.

Each child on their own path

Children in the same slot are working on entirely different challenges, chosen for where they are individually. There is no common starting point, no shared destination. A 9-year-old and an 11-year-old can be in the same room and never be doing the same thing.

A space to struggle well

Summer Labs is not designed to be easy. It is designed to be appropriately hard, which is a very different thing. Children leave sessions having worked, having been stuck, and having found a way through. That experience is the point of it.

A treat worth earning

Offline sessions in Hyderabad are held in relaxed spaces in Nanakramguda and Madhapur, where parents are welcome to wait. A good session earns a well-deserved treat. That moment matters more than it sounds. It is the ritual that tells a child their effort was real.

Two ways to join Summer Labs.

Both formats follow the same approach and the same standard. The difference is where the session happens.

Summer Labs is just the beginning.

Summer Labs is a great way to spend six weeks building the problem-solving muscle. The STEMRoot year-round programme is a logical continuation: the same child, the same personalised path, sustained through the academic year. Children who have a strong summer often find the shift to year-round feels entirely natural. If the summer goes well, we will talk about what the journey forward looks like.

Things parents ask about Summer Labs.

Is Summer Labs suitable if my child has never done anything like this?

Yes. Summer Labs is often the right starting point precisely because it is contained and time-bound. There is no long-term commitment, and the Discovery Session before enrolment ensures the approach is the right fit for your child before anything begins. Many families use Summer Labs as their first experience with STEMRoot.

My child is already ahead in school. Will they find this too easy?

Very unlikely. The problems are designed to be genuinely hard, and the challenge is calibrated specifically to each child. A child who solves things quickly gets harder problems. The ceiling here is not a grade level. It is the child's own thinking.

Is the online programme the same as the offline one?

The approach, the standard and the preparation are identical. The difference is the setting: online is one-on-one on Microsoft Teams, while offline is a small group in Hyderabad. Session duration differs: 1.5 hours offline, 1 hour online. Both follow the same principle of personalised, discovery-based work.

How is this different from a summer camp or activity programme?

Summer camps typically offer activities: things to experience and enjoy. Summer Labs offers work: specific, hard problems that require your child to think. The enjoyment comes from figuring something out, not from being entertained. It is a different kind of good time, and not every child is ready for it. That is what the Discovery Session helps establish.

What if my child wants to continue after the summer?

That is the natural next step. The STEMRoot year-round programme picks up exactly where Summer Labs leaves off: the same child, the same personalised path, two sessions a week through the academic year. If there is interest, we will have that conversation at the end of the summer. There is no obligation, and no pressure to decide in advance.
